Interesting occurrence, tonight sitting in our yard we watched our usual hummingbird pair visit our feeder. Our dog strayed a little to close to their feeder and sat down. The hummer flew down and hit my dog's ear with an audible thwap. It happened so fast he never really acknowledged it. I was worried thinking he might snap at the hummer as he does with bees and flies but I guess he cannot react as fast as these little birds fly.
