Until today the past few weeks have been fairly uneventful when it comes to
migrants outside of shorebirds. There have been a couple here and there, but
it looks like yesterday's frontal passage has ushered in more migrant
songbirds. Over the past few weeks I tried to stay fairly consistent checking
for shorebirds in the New Germany area. My focus will now shift away from
shorebirds though. Below are highlights/counts from the past few weeks. I
spent a little over 5 hours at Rapids Lake this morning with activity starting
out a bit slow(beside some of the regulars and Northern Waterthrush) and
picking up mid and late morning. It took me almost 2 hours to turn up my
first vireo today....though there weren't many vireo that I could find.
