Jim Peterson and I located a Great Gray Owl on Admiral Road about noon
today. Location was the wooded area south of the quarry and north of the
feeder station. Also Gray Jays. No luck with Boreal Chickadee or Three-toed
Woodpecker. We spent the day birding from Ely to Sax-Zim. I was struck with
the fact we did not see or hear one Red-breasted Nuthatch the entire route,
including around feeder stations.
