Hello:

I was out guiding day one of three days with a birder from West Virginia.
A very cold day for birding with air temps at -24 not including wind chills!

Highlights:
- Great Gray Owl along the Admiral Rd in Sax-Zim Bog. .25 miles south of
the Admiral Rd Feeders
- 2 Northern Hawk Owls in Sax-Zim Bog
- 2 Boreal Chickadees at the Admiral Rd Feeders in Sax-Zim Bog.
- 1 Black-backed Woodpecker (female) along McDavitt Road in Sax-Zim Bog on
east side of road across from south logging road parking lot.
- Thayer's Gulls at Canal Park in Duluth
- Northern Goshawk (adult) flying over gas refinery in Superior, Wisconsin.
- Hybrid Hooded Merganser X Common Goldeneye.

* Looked for King Eider and no sightings. Several other birders were out
looking today with no sightings of Eider.
