Hi All-- Most of the winter, various eBirders have reported an American Black Duck in and around Northfield, Rice Co. Having errands in Northfield, I finally got around the checking yesterday (3 February 2014). Among 350 Mallards in the small (75 yard) patch of open water in the Cannon River along downtown Northfield, I had no problem finding the Black Duck.
