Paul and I attended the grand opening of the Sax-Zim welcome center on
Saturday. It was a wonderful celebration and a beautiful day to enjoy the
bog as well. The Friends of the Bog have done a fantastic job to draw
attention to this important area and to encourage its protection.
The new center building is a marvel, open every day during the 'winter'; a
place to warm up, get information from the volunteers and enjoy their
feeders' activity.
Thanks to all of you who made this a wonderful place to visit. We were told
that the real 'spark plug' was Sparky Stensaas, but he has an
enthusiastic,friendly and hard-working group working right along with him.
