Wow, I have never seen a crow take a bird that large. But in California I
have seen a dozen ravens stand over a chimney as Vauxs Swifts came in to
roost, and each raven would take a turn flying over the entrance and grab
one of the swifts as they began to enter the chimney. This was a large
colony of nearly 15,000 and about 10 swifts would enter each second. The
swifts were so habitual and had so little suitable roosts available that
they were never deterred, even though the clever Ravens made easy pickings
from them each night.
