Hi All,

I am leading a MRVAC (Minnesota River Valley Audubon Chapter) field trip
this Sunday (June 15th). These field trips are free and open to anyone of
any level of expertise. We will be hiking a productive, but little known
state forest trail near Redwing. We will meet at 7 AM. If you are late
you will find us down the trail. Target birds (that we have found along
this trail) include Acadian Flycatcher, Scarlet Tanager, Cerulean Warbler,
Ovenbird, Wood Thrush, and Yellow-billed Cuckoo. The trail is level and an
easy hike, although it is not maintained. If you want to hike after
lunch, bring a lunch.

Directions: From Highway 52 at Hampton, take the Redwing exit and head
east towards Redwing on Highway 50. Highway 50 will become Highway 61.
The highway will descend a long hill to the Cannon River. Pass the
Treasure Island exit and make a left turn onto CR 46 (at the bottom, not
the top of the hill). Take the right fork (Collischan Road). In about two
miles you will pass two houses and can take a left to the trail head.

No reservations are needed or expected. Just show up. Call, if you have
any questions. 612/978/3993.
