Impressive numbers of Horned Grebes were on three southeastern Hennepin
Co. lakes that I visited this afternoon: L. Hiawatha-185, L.
Nokomis-860, Long Meadow Lake-310, for a total of 1,355. I did not get
to Calhoun or Harriet, which often have even higher spring numbers than
these lakes.
