It may, as you say, belong to someone because people can own pigeons for
racing, etc. However, it may simply be a bird that was banded in a bird
banding program. At Springbrook we band anything we catch that we are
entitled to band, which is anything besides a hummingbird or waterfowl. I
know it is not on of ours. With rare exception, we don't use colored bands.
Just the silver aluminum.
