Folks I could have put these links into one message. Here is the National Audubon Socy alert. Again, if this doesn't open for you, just go to [ audubon.org ] to find their info and their petition.

Congress and MBTA override The US House passed a bill this week that includes a provision that would prevent the Dept of Justice from enforcing the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (1918). If the Senate approves the bill, and the President signs it, federal protection for about 1000 bird species would be removed. (This info is from an e-msg from ABC. National Audubon Socy has a similar notice on their website.) As we have seen recently, "omnibus" bills can include text that is bad for conservation and they might pass into law due to that language or to other unrelated content that wins votes. I hope you can open this and read it. I think this is the only way to send out this message without being blocked for picture content. If you can't copy and paste this into your url to open, just go to ABC's website --- abcbirds.org--- to see the info and the petition. <http://support.abcbirds.org/ProtectMBTA> support.abcbirds.org/ProtectMBTA G Andersson St Paul ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
