Volunteer Opportunity! Audubon Minnesota is holding information sessions next week for anyone interested in learning more about volunteering for Project BirdSafe. Volunteers walk research routes in downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul to pick up birds that have been injured or killed after colliding with buildings.
Routes are walked: · Between ~6:00 and 9:00 am · Daily during spring and fall migration o Spring: April 1 through May 31 o Fall: August 15 through October 31 · Downtown Minneapolis and/or St. Paul (route maps provided) Commitment is flexible · Ideally, volunteers commit to walking one route once a week and are trained on both routes · Typically, some volunteers walk multiple routes per week; others walk a few per season · Most walk one route and have never done the other! · Each route takes ~1 - 1 ½ hours to complete depending on conditions (day, traffic, city, birds) For more information about Project BirdSafe visit: http://mn.audubon.org/conservation/project-birdsafe To attend one of the training sessions next week please fill out and return an inquiry form (instructions on form): PDF: http://mn.audubon.org/sites/g/files/amh601/f/2016_birdsafe_volunteer_inquiry_04-04_with_dates.pdf Word doc: http://mn.audubon.org/sites/g/files/amh601/f/2016_birdsafe_volunteer_inquiry_04-04_with_dates.doc THANKS and best wishes, Joanna Joanna Eckles Bird Friendly Communities Manager Audubon Minnesota One West Water Street Suite 200 St. Paul, MN 55107 651-739-9332 x111 Sign up for Audubon Minnesota eNews<http://audubon.us12.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=9aed5517eec3b37ac89468d96&id=6fb6f4ade3> ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
