Great morning of birding for 15 Enthusiastic birders at Westwood Nature Center in St. Louis Park! Highlights included an Adult Bald Eagle, a Merlin, and 9 species of Warblers and 3 vireos! The 44 species seen include; Pied-billed Grebe Green Heron Canada Goose Mallard Bald Eagle Merlin Wild Turkey Ring-Billed gull Mourning Dove Ruby-throated Hummingbird Belted Kingfisher Red bellied,Downey, Hairy,Pileated Woodpecker and Northern Flicker Olive-sided Flycatcher Eastern Wood Peewee Least flycatcher Red-eyed,Warbling and yellow throated Vireos Blue Jays American Crow Barn Swallow Black-Capped Chickadee White-breasted Nuthatch Blue Gray Gnatcatcher American Robin Swanson Thrush Gray Catbird Cedar Waxwing Tennessee,Nashville,Chestnut-sided,Blackburnian,Black-throated Green,Black and White,american redstart,Northern Waterthrush,and Common yellowthroat warblers Northern Cardinal Rose-Breasted Grosbeak American Goldfinch Also seen swimming in the lake was a otter!
