I also had a Kingfisher on the St. Paul Suburban Northeast CBC, on New Years 
Eve. The bird was along Main St. in Centerville, just west of I-35E. There was 
a creek with open water nearby. That was only the second I've seen in about 20 
years doing the same territory in that count area. 

Yesterday I walked around the area at the north end of the recently refurbished 
Old Cedar Avenue bridge and noticed several small areas where there was still 
open water, as was most of the main channel of the nearby Minnesota River.
