I saw the birds and nest construction on Easter Sunday. I was going
to ask the group if this was an old site -- I see that it is not.
The nest is on an outfield light tower between the two eastern-most
baseball fields, east of Victoria.
So what happens now? Does the DNR have a policy about large raptors and
public facilities, like prohibiting the use of the lights until
offspring have fledged? Would the City of Roseville have such a
policy? Is there someone to whom we can write to ask that the lights
not be used, at least temporarily?
Is the status of the osprey in Minnesota "of concern?"

Just received a correction to my observations re: the ospreys in Central
Pk., Roseville. The birds are more likely still in the nest-building stage
and what the one had in its mouth was probably nest-building material that
it pushed into the nest (they use their talons to carry things).
Also: it's the baseball field east of Victoria Street.
