MOU,
Yesterday, I found a female hummingbird on our driveway obviously
down from window strike. I did the usual precaution and put it in a
box hoping for a recovery. Due to a slow recovery, I mixed up some sugar
water using the correct formula and kept her hydrated and fed. There
were several attempts to release her, each time flight was a little
longer. She made it to a branch, only to fall to the ground in an
attempt to fly. Daylight was waning so keeping her overnight was going
to be the next step.
I fed her every 2 hours overnight. She seemed to be doing OK. AND
this morning SURPRISE, she laid an egg sometime between 4:30am and 7:30am!!
ANY SUGGESTIONS where to go from here?
I am going to try to release her again, today.
