As Doug Johnson just posted about the Bemidji Christmas Bird Count (CBC), there are 5 CBCs in Southwestern Minn that could also use some help. They are: Lac Qui Parle on December 14, Cottonwood (Lyon Co) Dec 15, Lamberton Dec 16, Marshall Dec 17, and Granite Falls Dec 18.
Note that some of these CBCs (Cottonwood and Marshall) began in the 1960s – some 50 years ago – and have continued virtually without interruption ever since with Paul Egeland as compiler or participant. Granite Falls is the newest of these, starting in 2016 with Garrett Wee as compiler. If you would like to help with any of these CBCs, contact Paul ([email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>) or Garrett ([email protected]), and they can provide more information. (Weather permitting, Bob Russell and I are tentatively planning to be on the Lac Qui Parle and Cottonwood CBCs – and note that participation on CBCs such as these is an ideal way for county listers to fill in the gaps on their various lists!)
