At approximately 4PM John Hockema spotted a laughing gull at the Wells WTP.
We studied the bird for over an hour. I was able to take photos, which were
sent
to Phil Chu for confirmation. It is a 1st cycle bird.

The gull is favoring the ponds on the north side of Cty Rd 109. We are
currently
observing it feeding on the algae mats. It appears to be missing a foot, which
is
apparent when it swoops to feed.
