Minnesota River Valley Audubon Chapter
Anoka County Birding Day
October 24, 2019

12 participants observed a total of 43 species in Anoka County on the 24th.  We 
birded at the following locations and found a few unique species at some of 
them.  Here is a quick summary of the locations and highlight species observed 
at them:

Birding locations:
Moore Lake Park
Islands of Peace Regional Park - Brown Creeper, Eastern Bluebird
Locke Park/Rice Creek West Regional Trail - Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Nashville 
Warbler
Springbrook Nature Center - Golden-crowned Kinglet, Brown Thrasher, Fox, 
White-throated & Song Sparrows
Coon Rapids Dam (Anoka County)
Wargo Nature Center - Brown Creeper, White-throated & Song Sparrows
Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve - Red-necked Grebe, Belted Kingfisher
Peltier Lake - Boat Launch and Fishing Pier - Ruddy Duck, Pied-billed Grebe & 
Common Loon
Anoka County
