On a very birdy morning at Rapids Lake MVNWR, I found my first for Minnesota
Prairie Falcon hunting in the grassland northwest of Rapids Lake. For
details about the bird and exact location you can check either the MOU database
or ebird. There have been a lot of migrants in the area the past 2 weeks.
My first migrant warbler of the fall arrived August 15 this year. Among
the 76 species today at Rapids Lake were 3 flycatcher species, 5 vireo species,
and 17 warbler species.
