Ahh, right. If you alter an ebuild, you have to `ebuild foo.ebuild
digest`, (in this case it'll probably look something like `ebuild
/usr/local/portage/dev-mozart/mozart-base/mozart-base-1.3.1-r1.ebuild
digest`), as root, with all of the files downloaded.
