We are having problems with a certificate from a hierarchy of the form: Root Cert->Intermediate Cert->Personal Cert.
If we start with a blank profile and import the Root and Intermediate certs using MIME downloads, followed by the Personal Cert (as a .P12 file) everything works OK. Secure mail can then be sent and verified. In a different profile, the same procedure is followed, and Mozilla refuses to trust the imported certificate saying "Could not Verify this certificate for unknown reasons". If the cert combination works in one profile, it should work in any profile right? DO'M
