This is the standard mozilla tree on Linux and both epiphany and galeon (and probably others) build fine using it.

I don't really see the point of a standalone JSS release if it can't be made to work without a dedicated mozilla CVS tree.
It can't be made to work as is, you will have to make changes to the JSS build system for it to work with a Mozilla build tree as opposed to an NSS build tree as it is setup today.
