After I posted my question, it occurred to me that I could just copy my entire profile folder to the new machine, which would preserve everything, and not just the certificates. Any reason why that wouldn't work?
In your case, it doesn't stand a chance to work.
They are file path inside the profile data, so it can work only if you use exactly the same path on the new computer ... which can't be done when moving to MacOSX.
Editing prefs.js might allow you to correct some of them, but it would long and tedious and unlikely to work fully.
For exemple, there's an hidden path reference inside secmod.db.
Yeah, it won't work to copy the entire profile, but many files can be copied over succesfully, including cert*.db, key3.db, (not secmod.db), and the *.s and *.w files. In each profile the prefix part of the file name for the *.s and *.w files will be different. So, my usual suggestion is to create the new profile, but not put much of interest in it, and then find the names of the *.s and *.w files, and copy the old ones over into that directory, changing their names to match the ones already there (which will be replaced). _______________________________________________ mozilla-crypto mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/mozilla-crypto
