You also mentioned high/low trust certificates, as far as my browser is concerned there is no distinguishable difference between them. The browser acts the same either way unless you go digging into the SSL cert dialog boxes you can't tell there is any difference. So the only distinguishing difference is for marketing and how money much more money you can from the sales pitch. Again this makes binary security arguments look more and more ridiculous the more they're tried to apply a 1 size fits all system to the world over.
