That's a different context than my reply but it is a legitimate point.
If you don't like the rules in your country you are *probably* allowed
to leave and possibly allowed to work on changing the rules from
within. If you are not allowed to leave that sucks but the good news
is that there are people and groups and countries that have supportive
policies; I believe tthe US has a concept of political asylum for
those seeking safe harbour from oppression - you still have to figure
out how to get here.

There are a number of efforts to free up information (apparently many
people what information to be free, but information itself doesn't try
that hard). Checkout freenet.org for an interesting approach.

Like many I am willing to work a bit for almost anyone, more so for
those who are genuinely passionate, even more so for those who
contribute regularly and are civil about it and courteous enough to
search the group history to see if a topic has been well debated.
