It is not difficult to find bad behavior in governments - after all a
government is a collection of people and therefor expresses the same
basic behavior you see in your every day life.

"Complete distrust" is a extreme. Surely you don't doubt that there is
an interest in protecting children but rather you see the playing of
that card in attempts to hide true motivation as inappropriate.
