What confused me I guess was that the "bytes" variables in the two routines didn't refer to the same thing and that it wasn't explained what "lenSize" in AppendHandshakeVariable() really is. I think this part could definitely use some more documentation, so that the implementation method is clearer to other programmers, who would be familiar with the TLS specification, but not necesarily with the specific way of implementation chosen.
