Hi all,

I have seen a few messages from people having the same problem as me, but no solutions.

I am trying to retrieve email addresses and certificates via LDAP (OpenLDAP 2.2.5) using Mozilla 1.6. The email address part works fine, but it seems that the directory is never asked for the certificate. The log on the LDAP server is as follows:

------LOG: ---------------------------------------

Mar 25 11:07:04 gomez slapd[15939]: conn=28 op=1 SRCH base="dc=mycompany,dc=com" scope=2 deref=0 filter="(|(mail=*federico*)(cn=*federico*)(givenName=*federico*)(sn=*federico*))"

Mar 25 11:07:04 gomez slapd[15939]: conn=28 op=1 SRCH attr=modifytimestamp xmozillausehtmlmail description notes custom4 custom3 custom2 custom1 birthyear homeurl workurl nscpaimscreenname countryname company o departmentnumber department orgunit ou title countryname zip postalcode region st locality l streetaddress postofficebox carphone cellphone mobile pagerphone pager facsimiletelephonenumber fax homephone telephonenumber xmozillasecondemail mail xmozillanickname displayname commonname cn surname sn givenname
Mar 25 11:07:04 gomez slapd[15939]: conn=28 op=1 SEARCH RESULT tag=101 err=0 nentries=1 text=

------------------------------------------------------

I then use the entry found to compose a message and encrypt it, but it fails saying that either the certificate was not found or it was expired. If I do "view security info" in fact it says "Not Found" in the Certificate status. And during all this there is no request sent to the LDAP server (exept from the first one logged above).

I have seen that when I use Outlook Express, the request to the LDAP server contains the userCertificate attribute.

If anyone has an idea of what I am doing wrong it would be greatly appreciated. I mean, someone has got it working, right?

Elin
