I've been using LDAP with Netscape/Mozilla/Outlook for years without a hitch (read only). I use two of them with TB1.0 - the first is my own OpenLDAP addressbook and the second is the VeriSign public directory which is good for looking up S/MIME certificates if you want to send encrypted email using the bulding capabilities of TB, OE etc. My directory isn't public so here's the configuration I use for VeriSign.
In the "General" tab: Name: VeriSign Hostanme: directory.verisign.com Base DN: Port Number: 389 Bind DN: In the "Advanced" tab: Don't return more than XXX results: VeriSign limits the number of entries returned anyway, pick a number (smaller if your connection is slow) Scope: Subtree Search Filter: (objectclass=*) If you get TB1.0 working with these settings you should be able to get your directory working too. have fun! ram PS If you go to www.verisign.com and search for "Digital ID Tutorial" you will get a document describing how to do this for a few different email programs. _______________________________________________ mozilla-directory mailing list [email protected] http://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/mozilla-directory
