By an order of magnitude. While we have to be simple, I think that wasting
lots of space "above the fold" on the front page is not good. This is one
of the problems I have with Matthew's design, as it happens. The top 200
pixels don't _do_ anything.

I think it's important that, for 95% of people presented with the front
page and a goal in mind, they can easily work out which link they should
try first, and be taken closer to their goal 95% of the time. This means
that what's available at the front has to be a broad overview
(lizard's-eye view) of the whole site.
