The Mozilla 1.0 now has its own start page (http://www.mozilla.org/start/1.0). Currently, it's the same as the start page for the trunk, but I'd like that to change.
No matter what we say about binaries being for testing, the 1.0 release will be downloaded and used by lots of people, so we want to use this page to show them some of the cool stuff Mozilla can do, and show off the best of Mozilla technology. So, we might have - a directory of XUL apps which work with 1.0 - a FAQ page on common things like "How do I block popups" - a Cool Features page showing off stuff like custom keywords - a demo area for advanced standards-compliant web content demos This idea is currently just that, an idea, and we need to make it happen quickly if we are going to do it well. We need several sorts of people: - If you are a web developer, and feel like stretching the boundaries of XHTML, CSS, Javascript and the DOM, I want to put together a group of people to make the pages themselves. Please consider volunteering. - If you have a gift for clear writing, and want to help write and review the content, we need you. - If you are a Mozilla addon hacker, with an addon which works with the 1.0 branch that you want mentioned, we want to hear from you as well. Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] . Pass the word around. If we don't get the people committing the time, it won't happen. I'm also hoping to pass the coordination of this off onto someone capable, so if you have a vision for how this could work, let me know what it is :-) This is not a competition of any sort. Gerv
