2.9 I've heard you can use keywords in Mozilla. What are they and how do you use them?
Keywords are custom shortcuts that can be set for bookmarks. For example, to set a keyword to go to the Mozilla site go to Bookmarks | Manage Bookmarks. The bookmark manager window should now be open. Either click on an existing bookmark or create a new one by selecting File | New | Bookmark. Select the bookmark and click on the properties button or right-click and select properties. In the location text box enter "http://www.mozilla.org". In the keyword text box enter a shortcut for your bookmark such as "mo". Click okay and then return to the browser and enter "mo" into the URL text box. Your shortcut for "mo" should take you right to Mozilla's site. Keywords can also be uses to access web services such as search engines and on-line dictionaries. To create a keyword for a dictionary word search create a new bookmark. Select the properties for the bookmark and enter into the location text box "http://www.dictionary.com/cgi-bin/dict.pl?term=%s". Enter a keyword such as "dict" into the keyword text box. Click okay and then return to the browser and enter "dict gecko". You should now see a definition for a gecko, which is a kind of lizard with suction cups on its feet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mark bokil wrote: > Okay, I will write up a response and send it to the group.
