Entry Point Not Found

This error message occurs with such frequency as to render Mozilla 1.8a2 
virtually un-useable (occurred in a1 and regular release also).  Message 
reads: "The procedure entry point ??ONS CONVERT UTF16oUTF8@@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@Z 
could not be located in the dynamic link library xpcom.dll"

I've done a Goggle and it appears rather common but no one ever suggests 
a cure.
