Hi,
I was curious if there is any existing Help information for Thunderbird,
or if anyone is working on such documentation? If not, I would be
willing to start working on it and/or assist whomever is currently
responsible.
Where can I go to check on this kind of thing?

Right now there's not much Help documentation. The firebirdhelp project on Mozdev
<http://firebirdhelp.mozdev.org/> started some, but there's just not the interest in
Thunderbird that there is in Firefox.
The Help Viewer in Firefox should be pretty much compatible with Thunderbird with only
minor changes which can be hacked into the tree with little effort. The docs,
however, are mostly non-existent. I suggest you download stuff from firebirdhelp and
see if /any/ of it is salvageable. It's mostly still pretty much direct Mozilla Mail
ports, so you'll probably have a ton to do.
Ideally, getting this even half-decently by Thunderbird 0.9 would be awesome, because
every 1.0 program should have some built-in Help.
If you want this to work with a mozilla.org tree, I'd suggest you copy
browser/components/help over to mail/components/help and edit the files in there. It
won't build, but modifying it from there to build should be trivial. Thanks for the
work, and if you have questions just email me.
