Total IE replacment?

I've been looking over the Mozilla ActiveX control and the thought of
totally replacing IE in EVERY program in windows (even windows itself)
with Mozilla came to me. Is this possible? i.e. if I were to run the
patch tool on windows itself would this take care of it? Any thoughts?
