Hi all, I've been struggling with this problem for a few days and would be extremely grateful to anyone who could help me out in any way!
If I do the following: 1. Install Mozilla 1.4.1 2. Unzip the Mozilla control 1.4 supplementary files (http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/gre_app_support14.zip) into my GRE directory 3. Register the mozctlx.dll file, ...I can sucessfully embed Mozilla into my Java application using the ActiveX control. I can view JavaScript, Quicktime movies... you name it. But as soon as I go to a page with a Java applet, the program brings up a "register failk" message and hangs. After some investigation I found out that the message comes from the Microsoft JVM which, for some reason, Mozilla is trying to use instead of the Sun 1.4.2 JRE. See: http://www.billwinkle.org/cdg/failk.html http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=30&thread=432494&tstart=1&trange=15 http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-57929 I can view the same applets in 1.4.1 when I'm not embedding it :-/ I've tried downloading the Mozilla Control 1.5 install (http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/MozillaControl15t1.exe) and uninstalling/reinstalling all my JREs and versions of mozilla (including deleting all the registry keys after uninstallation). No difference. This is happening on all the development machines (Win2000) I've tested it on. There must be something I'm missing since I've heard no-one else complaining about Java applets not working in the ActiveX control. Can someone please tell me how I should properly register my JRE with the ActiveX control? or anything I can do which could get this to work? (on ANY jre/mozilla version!) Any help would be greatly appreciated since this application has to be up and running for a demo by next week and I really want to use Mozilla instead of IE.
