Has anyone thought about adding support for "remote" bookmarks (via a
bookmarks server) to mozilla?

It would do much the same thing as webapps like backflip--i.e., allow
access to the same set of bookmarks from home and office--but since it
would provide the conveniences of built in bookmarking (chiefly a much
better gui), it would be much more popular. Moreover, putting the
bookmarks on a real database would allow much more comprehensive
collections of links, with multiple ways to search them, etc.

And if the bookmarks server were open, you might (ultimately) be able
to choose which bookmarks service you used.

Anyhow, just a thought. Apologies if this isn't the right group to
ask.
