The longer they are, the more you run into UA display problems. Yes, I
know Mozilla handles this gracefully, but... ;-) I think making the names
any longer (and they are already really quite long, because of the
categorisation) would be a mistake. In fact, I was pushing earlier for
moz.dev.*, but was overruled.

Incidentally, what would be better is if when Netscape reorganise their
news hierarchy, they use "web-dev" or "web-developers" (as we are) instead
of "dev" for the web developer newsgroups.
