For reference only:

In Communicator in a Mac if you want it cover the full screen option
click the Mouse button and it will cover the full screen minus about 3
pixels right left top and bottom. Imediately quit Communicator. let sit
for a second or two. Then reopen Communicator. The screen size will be
forever saved in preferences. Unless Preferences become corrupt for some
reason and you have to throw away and create a new preference File
(which is very, very rare) then you would have to repeat the procedure.

It shouldn't be to teribly difficult to write the code to do the same
(account for differences in platforms -Unix,Mac, PC).
