6.01 is just Moz0.6 plus a very few crash fixes, all of which have also gone
into the trunk. If you're used to recent Mozilla builds it would be a big
step backwards.

This is a recent build? There were a few builds with this problem, which has
since been fixed. Unfortunately if the problem occurs it can leave behind
junk that confuses future installs.

Find your temporary directory (either set in an environment variable, or the
default under windows) and zap the ns_temp directory. You should now be able
to install as long as your installer isn't from a few weeks ago when this
problem originated.
