Last I heard, on win98, you delete your mozregistry.dat in c:\windows.

You can delete your mozver.dat but I believe you'll lose your profile 
information and have to recreate your profile which may or may not be a 
major hassle depending on your situation.  The files will still be in 
Users50, just mozilla won't know how to find them...
