Hi All,
I have a problem in getting Netscape 6.* to run on a Linux box with
Redhat7.1/kde2.1. If I start the program for the first time, this is the
result:
--
/wrk2/juffer/netscape6/run-mozilla.sh /wrk2/juffer/netscape6/mozilla-bin
MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/wrk2/juffer/netscape6
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/wrk2/juffer/netscape6/Cool:/wrk2/juffer/netscape6:/home/aj/juffer/.kde/lib:/usr/lib
LIBPATH=/wrk2/juffer/netscape6:/wrk2/juffer/netscape6/Cool
SHLIB_PATH=/wrk2/juffer/netscape6:/wrk2/juffer/netscape6/Cool
XPCS_HOME=/wrk2/juffer/netscape6/Cool
MOZ_PROGRAM=/wrk2/juffer/netscape6/mozilla-bin

Inside Migrate Profile routine.
AutoMigration failed. Let's create a default 5.0 profile.
ProfileManager : CreateNewProfile
Profile Name: default
Profile Dir: /home/aj/juffer/.mozilla
ProfileManager : CreateNewProfile
Profile Name: default
Profile Dir: /home/aj/juffer/.mozilla
PREF_Cleanup()
--
That's it. It simply quits. Apparently it cannot convert an existing
profile (from netscape 4.76) "AutoMigration failed". A very similar
problem occurs when I try mozilla 0.8.1. The .mozilla folder contains
the following entries: appreg default juffer registry. The folders
default and juffer are completely empty. That should not be the case. If
try again to run netscape6, the result is:
--
/wrk2/juffer/netscape6/run-mozilla.sh /wrk2/juffer/netscape6/mozilla-bin
MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/wrk2/juffer/netscape6
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/wrk2/juffer/netscape6/Cool:/wrk2/juffer/netscape6:/home/aj/juffer/.kde/lib:/usr/lib
LIBPATH=/wrk2/juffer/netscape6:/wrk2/juffer/netscape6/Cool
SHLIB_PATH=/wrk2/juffer/netscape6:/wrk2/juffer/netscape6/Cool
XPCS_HOME=/wrk2/juffer/netscape6/Cool
MOZ_PROGRAM=/wrk2/juffer/netscape6/mozilla-bin

moz_debugger=
/wrk2/juffer/netscape6/run-mozilla.sh: line 29: 1619 Segmentation

It crashes.
At home, I have a PC running slackware 7.1 with kde2.1. On that machine
there are no problems at all, that is netscape6 runs quite fine (the
mozilla 0.8.1 compiled for slackware is not extremely stable).
Somebody? Any ideas what it could be?
Thanks,
