I don't know that that's the case. What I see in .performance is Ms.
Wang making some strident yet much-needed "this is important guys"-type
pleas, and performance numbers going nowhere (other than slightly
*worse* in the last few weeks, but I'll give that the benefit of the
doubt). Now maybe there's some backroom action happening that the
public isn't privy to in this "Open" project, but I've seen no evidence
that performance (==non-insane resource hoggage) is in any respect at
the forefront moreso now than at any time in the past.

No, it doesn't. Since I've been squealing about Mozilla's use of 20MB+
to display a blank page, do you know where we sit today? Yep: 20MB+ to
display a blank page. Nothing getting better there with each passing
month, let alone every release!

That's odd. My newsreader shows at least half a dozen postings after
Mark's that were responded to well *before* I "obliged" anybody to
respond to Mark's.
