I'm not saying you have the wrong priorities. I think you should
keep on doing exactly what you're doing. The only reason I said
ANYTHING in the first place was because I wanted to express an
opinion.

>You don't use crypto at all, then? Or play computer games?

Of course I do. It's all a matter of context.

>You haven't specifically instructed it not to do it. You've not

Perhaps not explicity. There is no checkbox during profile
creation that says, "Do not create a random subdirectory," but that
seems to be implicit both from an historical perspective and from the
way that most other applications handle such things. Honestly, I've
never personally encountered another application that will do this.

>specifically instructed it to do it. There's a difference. You don't
>specifically instruct Mozilla to remember your preferences, but it does.

Again this is implicit. If it DIDN'T remember my preferences I'd
be just as upset. (Actually, a whole lot more so. <grin>) All of
this is just symantics.

>Why would you still have been offended if a company representative made
>the pitch? Are company executives the only people allowed to work in

I'm not offended by the pitch. I was upset by the lack of
information that was relayed, and the attitiude it represented. At
this point, however, I really don't care anymore - since I've found
the forum I should have found originally.

>You can't have software for all, because All do not all want the same

Obviously! I never said that was possible. But if everybody has
some say then more people will be happy overall than if only ONE
person has their say. It's not the perfect solution for everybody,
but it's certainly the best that you could possibly have.

>of cooperating with mozilla.org a pain at times. But they contribute
>because their employer says they should. Is that wrong?

No, of course not. People contribute for different reasons.

>There's no distinction, apart from the fact that, had Ben made the mod, he
>would have had to make the patches available to _you_ when he gave you the
>custom Moz.

Which is exactly what I've been saying I would not want. I don't
want something that is designed for me specifically. I want to use
whatever it is that has been designed for everybody. And if a certain
feature that I want happens to be one that's been determined is good /
wanted / required for any by everyone than so much the better. I
don't want to use something that is nobody else is using.

      Jason.
