Well, it's probably only necessary on browsers. The reason you haven't
seen it before is that Mozilla (tries to) pay far more attention to your
security and privacy than any other browser.

If we only did things that previous browsers have done... but you can see
where that is going :-)

Then, as you said, you'll have to live with it if certain features are not
to your liking :-)
