Wonderful, thank you for this help, I had exactly the same problem (Suse
7.1, M0.9.1)
It was fine running as root (not a good idea, huh) but when I tried to run
as a user I had - rather disturbing - half made buttons etc, as in Frank's
screenshot. I *had* imported a profile from NN 4.7 and it seems that was
the problem.
I struggled to get to the profile manager for a while, but found the
easiest way was to change to a user who hadn't ran mozilla before, run
./mozilla, exit, change *back* to my normal user login, then run mozilla
again. Problem solved.
