With all due respect you have no idea about the server outage situation.
Rumors abound when this happens and are easily propagated, etc.

The FACT is the certificate renewal for SECNEWS ran amuck with some
sorta difficulty and is being handled as we speak. There, no more rumor
milling !!  :o)
