As everyone knows, 56k modems aren't 56k. Mine goes at between 33600 and
44000.

But I was referring to people on mobile connections over 1st generation
mobile networks, of which there are a great deal; here in the UK, we
actually have national mobile coverage and decent standards. The advantage
of having a small country.

However, such people are connected at 9600bps over an intermittent link at
between 5p (7 cents) and goodness-knows-what per minute.
