I have been using Mozilla on and off since M14, and have been using it fully for the last 2 months. I think it's a great browser, with a good user interface, sidebar, prefrence handeling, standards support, and many others. I beleve what I mentioned is the rock of what mozilla stands for. If a person does not know how to work the sidebar, the prefrences, or complains becouse XML is useless should not just complain and stick with IE, they should forget using the web all together.
I have never writen to Mozillas Newsgroups, but after playing around, a problem came up that I thought asking it in the "general" newsgroup was called for.
I have been trying to get Java applets to work with Mozilla, but can not figure out how to activate the plug in. Infat, I could not find any information on any technical support pages that explain how to install it properly. I have downloaded the 1.3.01 (whatever the latest one is) from Netscape, and installed it on the computer, at first on my 2nd hard drive, and then on the same drive as Windows.... neaither worked, even after restarting mozilla and the computer.
Another major problem I had, that I already mentioned, is that there is no easy to find information about how to install Java. I looked in the Help directory with Moz, searched Mozilla.org, and even went to www.sun.com and searched their website. Which surprisingly, does not have the plug in at all (or at least that I could find)
Ok.. I'll stop rambeling.
Question #1 What is a good website to download the Java plug-in? (in my version was wrong)
Question # 2 What is a good website to read technical information dealing with installing the plug-in?
Also... I noticed a posted bug over Mozilla finding JRE plugings....

It was aparently solved and fixed a week ago... I don't know if it's the same thing I am dealing with...
Oh... I downloaded a nightly build on the 19th..... 2001071903
Thanks to whoever even bothers to read all of this letter.
